Famed Tae Bo creator Billy Blanks is helping us stay in shape and smiling between the snacks with his new online workout series, “In the Living Room with Billy Blanks.”
The famed fitness guru said it’s time to get off the couch and “Get up & get active.” Like millions across the world, Blanks’ is sad to be stuck indoors amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But, he said he’s happy to see his workout videos are helping motivate others.
“Sad that we’re still stuck indoors but makes me smile seeing all of your Tae Bo home workout videos,” he wrote. “Let’s continue motivating each other to be the best we can be.”
Through his YouTube channel, Blanks’ offers free workout routines and some original videos, boasting over 100,000 subscribers. Blanks also tipped his hat to medical workers on the front lines in Los Angeles and around the world battling with the deadly disease.
“I very much appreciate all the 1st responders putting their lives on the line every day with this virus,” he wrote. “They are the true heroes. God will watch over you and get us through this together.”
Billy helped cultivate Tae Bo into a fitness phenomenon in the 1990s that combined boxing and the Korean martial art of Taekwon-Do for a full body workout.
