Bad Wolves officially has a new lead singer.
The band announced Wednesday that Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz will be joining as their new vocalist in place of Tommy Vext, who left Bad Wolves earlier this year.
Laskiewicz, who previously played guitar in the band The Acacia Strain, will make his Bad Wolves debut on their upcoming new album, titled Dear Monsters.
“DL is one of the most talented and hard-working people we have ever had the pleasure to know,” Bad Wolves says in a statement. “He is a team player, a creative force, and overall a great human being who fits perfectly with our BW family.”
“It feels incredible to be surrounded with such positive energy and the music we’ve made is certainly reflective of this new-found optimism and collaborative spirit,” the statement continues. “This new album shows a more cohesive and unique reflection of the band.”
Dear Monsters will be Bad Wolves’ third album, following 2018’s Disobey and 2019’s N.A.T.I.O.N. The band broke out in 2018 with their viral cover of The Cranberries‘ “Zombie.”
Vext’s departure was announced this past January. No reason was given for the parting of ways, but Vext had been making headlines in the months leading up to the news for spreading right-wing conspiracy theories relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. He was also sued by an ex-girlfriend over allegations of assault, which he denied and deemed “fake news.”
